I know it has been quite a while since we have been in touch! It continues to be a very busy time for psychologists. I have been wanting to have a Mindfulness gathering, and hope we can get together in the spring. It's not too far away!
I hope you are all well and have been keeping the beautiful practice of Mindfulness in your life, living simply what is at hand at this moment, then the next, then the next. The practice of being effortlessly present to life as it flows, moment by moment. brings peace to whatever arises in our lives We become so able to meet and respond, rather than react and find joy in life itself. Twenty minutes in the morning and in the evening will produce remarkable results.
I also wanted to pass this information on to you, for anyone who is interested in learning more about Buddhism, which is the philosophy represented in Mindfulness. "My" Dharma Centre, which is the Rigpe Dorje Center in Verdun, will be holding an evening on Monday, February 13th from 7 to 8:30 p.m., as an introduction to the philosophy along with Q&A and discussion. I love this Centre, it is the only one I have ever attended. The atmosphere is open, welcoming and warm. They hold lovely events as well.
Tea Ceremonies are held monthly, we meet Saturday mornings for a book club with the Lama, which are very rich, inspiring - and fun. When we have half or day-long teachings, there is also a pot luck lunch and lots of conversation. For example, on Sunday February 19th there will be teachings and a practice to release and clear energy of the past year, to begin the New Year afresh. (The Chinese New Year that is).
At the end of the day, there will be traditional Tibetan soup - no doubt a New Year tradition!
Some of you have expressed an interest in learning more about the roots and context of the philosophy of which Mindfulness is a part, so when I received this notice today, which is linked below, I thought I would forward it on to you. The address and details are provided there.
I will be there on Monday evening, in case you are concerned about "not knowing anyone" - and it will be a lovely opportunity to see you again!!
Have a Lovely Weekend and I so look forward to seeing you soon!
All the Very Best,
Lynda
