How are all of you? I miss you!
I think of you often - well, not ALL the time - but certainly 2 or 3 times a day, every day!
Whenever I read something wonderful, or come across an idea particularly well put, or have an insight of my own - I can’t help thinking of you, and imagining how these would be great ideas to share at a Mindfulness Evening or on a Mindfulness Retreat Day!
I had such an insight this morning, walking under a wide expanse of blue sky! I wrote it down as soon as I reached pen and paper - not to lose it -
and thought I would share it with you.
Here it is! Read it slowly, see if you can get a sense of the idea.
Noticing how, as soon as a judgement arises,
my mind narrows.
Just as if the aperture of my mind and heart shifted -
from an outlook as wide and spacious
as the infinite blue sky,
seen from an airplane or from a high mountain,
Narrowing
to a vision with definition.
As if a line were drawn around each object,
each person,
setting them apart from me.
Even more poignantly,
a line drawn around myself as well.
Suddenly, there’s a Me…..
Separate and distinct within my environment,
separate from the world,
separate from you.
A Me - now defined and defended.
But that’s okay!
Because I can notice what has happened -
And open up again!
Try it!
It’s Beautiful!
Unencumbered by opinions, attitudes and judgements -
which there is no need to believe - and be burdened by,
All that remains, is to be open, aware, present, in touch,
with Life, with Reality, as it flows.
And Flow It Will.
I have also attached a wonderful 3-page cartoon, which I think you will enjoy! You might want to zoom in if you find the lettering to be small.
Take good care of yourself.
Take good care of the rest of us.
Be happy!
and aware of the unique nature of these times!
See you before TOO long!
